How do I know if a power bank's mAh rating is real?

Check the weight first. A real 20,000mAh power bank usually weighs 330–450g; one that feels light for that capacity probably has a smaller battery than the label claims. Then confirm the actual charging wattage the first time you use it against a fast-charging phone. Buy Mall or Official Store only so you have a return window if either check fails.

Why does my 10,000mAh power bank only charge my phone one and a half times?

That's normal. Rated mAh is measured at the battery's internal 3.7V, but your phone charges at 5V. Converting between the two costs energy, so even a real 10,000mAh bank delivers roughly 6,000–6,500mAh of real charge. If you're getting dramatically less than that, the printed capacity was inflated to begin with.

Can you bring a power bank on a plane in the Philippines?

Yes, for most power banks. As of 2026, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and AirAsia Philippines each allow up to two power banks per passenger, each 100 watt-hours (Wh) or below, in carry-on only and never in checked baggage. Cebu Pacific bans anything over 100Wh outright, with no approval tier. A 10,000mAh bank is about 37Wh and a 20,000mAh bank about 74Wh using the standard 3.7V calculation, both under the limit. The number that gets checked is the Wh rating printed on the bank, so make sure the label is readable. Don't charge it in the air, and keep it out of the overhead bin: Cebu Pacific wants it in your pocket or the seat pocket, and AirAsia wants it in the seat pocket or under the seat.

Anker Zolo vs Baseus Bipow 2 vs Anker Nano: which power bank should I buy?

Buy the Baseus Bipow 2 20000mAh (₱1,095) for the best value. It has the most capacity and the lowest price of the three, and at ~74Wh it's under the airline limit. Buy the Anker Zolo 10000mAh (₱1,295 regular) if pocket size matters more than capacity or price. Buy the Anker Nano 10000mAh 45W (₱3,595 regular) only if charging speed matters more than capacity, since it costs over 3x the Baseus for half the capacity. Anker's flash-sale prices on the Zolo and Nano sell out fast, so check current stock before counting on a lower price.

Is Baseus a legit power bank brand in the Philippines?

Yes. Baseus is an established consumer electronics brand carried by authorized Philippine retailers like DataBlitz. Many “20,000mAh” banks sold on Philippine marketplaces for ₱299–500 hold far less than the label says. Part 1 shows how to check yours.

Part 1: Is the mAh Actually Real?

Weigh it and check its charging speed on the first day

Expect some loss.Rated mAh is measured at the battery's internal 3.7V, and your phone charges at 5V. The conversion costs energy, so a real 10,000mAh bank delivers about 6,000–6,500mAh to your phone. Much less than that means the rating was inflated.

Weigh it.Lithium cells hold a fairly fixed amount of energy per gram, so a real 20,000mAh bank usually weighs 330–450g. A “20,000mAh” bank that feels light probably has a smaller battery than the label claims. A listing photo showing a “20,000mAh” bank that fits in someone's palm is the same warning sign.

Check the wattage. The first time you use it, plug in a phone that supports fast charging and read the charging speed in its battery settings or on a USB power meter. A bank sold as 20W that charges at 5W is probably mislabeled.

Buy from Mall or official stores: LazMall on Lazada, Shopee Mall or Preferred on Shopee, or the verified Anker or Baseus account on TikTok Shop. Skip livestream resellers and no-name banks outside Mall, even at ₱500–800 less.

Part 2: Can You Fly With It?

Cebu Pacific, PAL and AirAsia allow two banks per passenger, each 100Wh or less, carry-on only

All three major Philippine airlines tightened their power bank rules in 2026. Each allows up to two power banks per passenger, each 100Wh or less, in carry-on only. Power banks are never allowed in checked baggage.

Cebu Pacific:over 100Wh is banned, with no approval option. You can't use or charge a power bank during the flight. Keep it in your pocket or the seat pocket, not in a bag in the overhead bin or under the seat. A bank with a smudged or missing label can be confiscated.
Philippine Airlines: no charging power banks on board, and each bank needs a clear printed capacity label, preferably in Wh or mAh. In effect since March 27, 2026.
AirAsia Philippines: keep it in the seat pocket or under the seat in front of you, never in the overhead bin.

Airline staff go by the Wh number printed on the unit. If only mAh is printed, Wh = mAh × 3.7V ÷ 1000: about 37Wh for 10,000mAh and 74Wh for 20,000mAh, both under the limit. Cebu Pacific's own guidance calculates at 5V and lists a 20,000mAh bank at 100Wh, so rely on the printed label.

💡 Check the label before flying with a 25,000mAh+ or laptop-charging bank. Most 10,000–20,000mAh banks are well under the limit. Rules change often, so check your airline's page before each trip.

Part 3: Which One Is Yours

Baseus Bipow 2 20000mAh 20W

Most capacity for the lowest price in this lineup

₱1,095 at DataBlitz (official retailer)

Twice the Zolo's rated capacity for ₱200 less, which helps in a long brownout or a day away from an outlet. 20W USB-C PD fast-charges most phones, and at about 74Wh it's under the 100Wh airline limit. Check the printed Wh label before you fly.

Cons: heavier and bulkier than the 10,000mAh banks, so carry it in a bag. Warranty depends on the seller (see Part 4). Its spec sheets disagree on weight, so weigh yours on arrival against the 330–450g range in Part 1.

💡 Buy if:you want the most capacity for the money and don't mind the weight.

Built-in cables:Baseus's Lipow Dual-Cable 20000mAh (model PPJP312) has attached USB-C and Lightning cables and a digital display. It was ₱1,569 on promo in Baseus's LazMall store on 30 September 2026 (list price ₱3,499), ₱474 more than the Bipow 2's regular price.

Its “22.5W” only reaches phones using Huawei-style low-voltage fast charging. Most phones get 18W from the built-in USB-C cable or 20W from its USB-C port, about the same as the Bipow 2. Charging two devices at once drops to 15W total. It weighs about 435g and is rated 74Wh, passing the Part 1 weight check and the carry-on limit. Pay extra only for the attached cables.

Anker Zolo 10000mAh 22.5W

Smallest and lightest: about one and a half phone charges

₱1,295 regular at anker.ph, ₱1,145 sale (Oct 9, 2026)

At 229g and about 37Wh, it fits a pocket and clears every airline rule. 22.5W USB-C PD fast-charges a phone. It costs more than the Baseus at regular price.

Cons: not enough for a multi-day trip or a long outage, and 22.5W does little for a tablet or laptop.

💡 Buy if: pocket size matters more than capacity or price, and you fly with it.

Anker Nano 10000mAh 45W

Fastest charging in this lineup, enough for a tablet

₱3,595 regular at anker.ph, ₱3,195 sale (Oct 9, 2026)

Same 10,000mAh as the Zolo, but 45W USB-C PD can charge a tablet and trickle-charge some laptops. About 37Wh, so it clears airline rules too.

Cons:more than three times the Baseus's price for half the capacity.

💡 Buy if: charging speed matters more than capacity, or you charge a tablet as well as a phone.

Part 4: Keeping It Safe and Ready

Keep it cool, retire it if it swells, charge before a storm, keep the receipt

Heat.Anker warns that a hot car, a heater or direct sun can set off chemical reactions inside the battery. Don't leave one on the dashboard or back seat in summer.

Swelling. If the case bulges, unplug it and stop charging or using it. Lithium-ion batteries are hazardous waste, so take it to an e-waste or battery drop-off point instead of the regular trash.

Charge before a storm. Anker rates the Zolo at ~3 hours to full on a 20W charger. A 20,000mAh bank like the Bipow 2 takes longer.

Warranty.Anker Philippines gives an 18-month warranty on its standard charging products, including these power banks, bought from anker.ph, official Anker Philippines retail or marketplace stores, or authorized PH resellers, with proof of purchase. Banks from unauthorized sellers aren't covered. If you bought from anker.ph, report a damaged or wrong item within 24 hours of delivery. Send claims to shopanker@gocommerce.asia.
